May 9, 2022 – Ahead of Rounds Five and Six at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires series is pleased to announce that Black Mirage has been named the official cyber security company for the Mazda-owned series.
Based in Massachusetts, Black Mirage is an information security vendor. The company works with clients to assess their security needs through penetration testing and simulated adversarial activities. Black Mirage offers a hand-picked team comprised of industry experts and former special operations personnel.
“We are thrilled to welcome Black Mirage to the Mazda MX-5 Cup family,” said Mazda Motorsports Program Manager Jonathan Applegate. “It is a company that is passionate about motorsports and I think they’ll find our paddock to be a diverse group of individuals that could benefit from its expertise.”
Starting this week at Mid-Ohio, all MX-5 Cup cars will carry the Black Mirage logo.
“It’s quite exciting to be a part of this fantastic IMSA series,” said Black Mirage co-founder Carson Owlett. “MX-5 Cup is a series that fans and drivers are really supportive of, and we know we can have an impact in this arena. In fact, we have plans to sponsor an MX-5 Cup car in the near future as well.”
Catch the Black Mirage logos on the 31-car Mazda MX-5 Cup grid, May 13 – 15, for Rounds Five and Six at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Both races will be streamed live on RACER.com.
