BSI Racing is set to bring six drivers to Mid-Ohio for Rounds 7 and 8 of the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, presented by Michelin.
Jonathan Neudorf, Christian Hodneland, Heather Hadley, and Westin Workman made the west coast trip last month at Laguna Seca and will continue their stretch of consecutive starts in the series as full-season competitors.
The No. 95, fan-favorite “Lightning McQueen” livery, piloted by Farhan Siddiqi returns to the field after missing the May race in Monterey a month ago. Fans will have the opportunity to stop by the BSI Racing trucks in the MX-5 Cup paddock and get their pictures with the Disney-inspired machine.
Finally, and notably, Connor Zilisch returns to the series and BSI Racing after missing Rounds 5 and 6 last month due to a scheduling conflict. Zilisch, already with two second-place finishes this season, looks to grab his first win of the year in the Mazda championship.
Zilisch, already having made a name for himself in the series, has continued his upward trajectory in the motorsports world. With wins with ERA Motorsports at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, and the historic 12 Hours of Sebring, the 17-year-old has added wins a numerous other competitions, including ARCA’s General Tire 150 at Dover’s “Monster Mile”.
Zilisch will look to carry momentum into Mid-Ohio as he runs in the Mazda platform.
“This is a great opportunity to shake things up in the points,” said Team Principle, Shea Holbrook.
“I love Mid-Ohio. I love the track, the fans… It’s a great place to race. I’m excited to have Farhan and Connor back with us too. This should be a fun weekend and I expect us to perform at a high level. We’re on a mission and I trust everyone to do their job and do it well.”
Practice begins on Friday, June 7th at 10:30 AM with races on Saturday and Sunday.
