Jack Murchison will pilot the No. 76 Blackpoint Cyber car for AAG Racing at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Series presented by Michelin.
The Colorado driver began racing just two years ago and has been competing in Spec MX-5 this past season. In 2024, he earned multiple top-five and top-10 finishes, including a second-place finish at NOLA after leading many laps, and another second-place finish at Hallett, contributing to a TKG Motorsports podium sweep.
Spec MX-5 has been an incredible learning platform, super competitive, and a great test of racecraft for Murchison. The racing is intense, and the level of competition is extremely high, which has helped him develop as a driver.
“I’m especially excited to take on the challenge of St. Pete for the first time with AAG,” Murchison said. “It’s an incredible opportunity to compete on such a challenging street circuit, where precision and confidence are key. St. Pete demands complete focus. There’s no room for mistakes with walls lining the track; plus, the changing grip between concrete and asphalt keeps everyone on edge. I’m really looking forward to pushing myself in a new team environment and seeing what we can accomplish together. I’m also proud to have Blackpoint Cyber on board supporting me at St. Pete. Street circuits are unforgiving, with no room for error, but I’m looking forward to adapting quickly and seeing what we can accomplish!” continued Murchison.
Chris Clarke, owner of AAG Racing, said, “I am very excited to have Jack driving with us. He has proven that he is a very talented young man, and I can’t wait to see him behind the wheel of the AAG MX-5 Cup car. We are happy to have Blackpoint Cyber partner with us for this event.”
“At Blackpoint Cyber, we’re all about speed, precision, and staying ahead of the competition—values that align perfectly with AAG Racing,” said Jon Murchison, founder and CEO of Blackpoint Cyber. “Just like in cybersecurity, success on the track requires focus, strategy, and the right team behind you. We’re proud to partner with AAG Racing and support their drive to compete at the highest level,” continued Murchison.
