BSI Racing is set to bring seven drivers to Virginia International Raceway for Rounds 11 & 12 of the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin. Jonathan Neudorf, Heather Hadley, Christian Hodneland, Farhan Sidiqi, Ethan Tyler and Westin Workman all return to the lineup as the series nears the season's closing stages.
Also joining is a familiar name in the IMSA VP Sports Car Challenge, Jagger Jones. Jones, 22-years-old will pilot the No. 95 Lightning McQueen, FastMD, BSI Racing MX-5.
Jagger is currently competing in the IMSA VP Sports Car Challenge and has accumulated five victories in just six starts this season.
“I’m honestly very excited to join BSI Racing thanks to FastMD Racing at VIR for my first Mazda MX-5 Cup race. We all watch these races because they’re some of the most competitive and exciting races on IMSA weekends. I was able to test a few weeks ago and could not believe how fun and different these cars are to drive,” said Jones.
BSI enters the weekend with a heap of momentum after a successful campaign north of the border at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last month. Rookie Westin Workman finds himself at the top of the Rookie Championship standings after securing his second win of the season in race one.
Workman will have the opportunity to distance himself from the rest of the rookie class, entering the weekend in sixth place in the points championship with 2290 points.
Heather Hadley also brings momentum with her best performance of the season under her belt at CTMP last month. Hadley earned another Top Finishing Female award, getting back on the podium for the fourth time this season.
Pilot Jonathan Neudorf continues to make strides in the ultra-competitive championship as he searches for his first podium in the series, notching back-to-back top-10s last month. Neudorf was right in the thick of a podium hunt in both races, now he will look to take the next step in Virginia.
“Can’t wait to get back on track for the MX-5 Cup at VIR”, said BSI Racing Team Owner Shea Holbrook.
“We’ve had a lot of success here over the years, and we expect our drivers to perform well this weekend. This another fast and technical track that presents a lot of challenges for drivers, but it’s a fun track for sure.”
Practice begins on Friday with races on Saturday and Sunday.
