December 10, 2024 –Mooresville, NC – CB Motorsports, a name in the racing industry with over 30 years of experience, is coming home in 2025. Confirming their entry in the IMSA-sanctioned Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Michelin, CB Motorsports has also inked a deal with race-winning driver coach Jim Daniels.

Set for a multi-car effort and already confirming the first entry for the MX-5 Cup program with driver Caleb Bacon, CB Motorsports is open for car preparation, transportation, and trackside support efforts in 2025. Bacon will pilot the #18 MX-5 machine with partners to be confirmed later.

“We will be going to the races, and want to grow the team and the CB Motorsports brand in IMSA and the MX-5 Cup program,” expressed Chad Bacon, Owner of CB Motorsports. “We will have an upscale hospitality area along with our team offerings of transportation and prep services, along with driver coaching and hospitality, and we can provide a full support package for any driver that brings their own equipment to the program.”

Along with the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by Michelin series, Caleb Bacon and CB Motorsports will see action in five Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli events.

Bacon added, “We are also working on a GT4 program that could begin as early as Daytona in January, but we are a little early on in being able to say too much regarding that.”

“It’s good to be heading back to IMSA and begin to grow our footprint in that paddock again,” explained Caleb Bacon, the first confirmed driver at CB Motorsports. “Racing is becoming more and more expensive, and I think the effort that we are putting into bringing drivers together in one race team at a lower cost is a good one and will have much success.”

Along with confirming at least two race programs in 2025, Jim Daniels has been confirmed as the new CB Motorsports Driver Coach. With an illustrious career as a championship-winning driver, Jim brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help elevate the performance of CB Motorsports drivers and engineers in the highly competitive 2024 IMSA season.

“Jim will be instrumental in fostering communication between drivers and engineers, as well as conducting in-depth data and video analysis to optimize performance on the track,” explained Chad Bacon. “We welcome him to the CB Motorsports family with open arms.”

Daniels added, “I am excited to join CB Motorsports and work with such a talented group of individuals. We aim to achieve new levels of success in the MX-5 Cup and Trans-Am series, and I can't wait to get started.”
