Supply, North Carolina - December 6th, 2023 - McCumbee McAleer Racing (MMR) proudly confirms the participation of Nate Cicero and John Jodoin in the 2024 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires (MX-5 Cup) season.
Nate Cicero, from Pound Ridge, New York, earned his racing stripes in the MX5-Cup Series during the 2023 season with MMR Racing. Cicero showcased his exceptional skillset, culminating in a stellar rookie year, securing the Rookie of the Year accolade and finishing 6th in the Championship standings with 2990 points. Expressing his enthusiasm, Cicero stated, "I'm thrilled to be back with MMR for the 2024 Mazda MX5-Cup season! After clinching Rookie of the Year, a victory, and two podiums last year, I'm eager to see what we can accomplish in my second year in this series!"
Joining Cicero, John Jodoin from Barrington, Illinois, is set to embark on his third consecutive year racing with MMR Racing, behind the wheel of the #39 car. Jodoin concluded the 2023 season, finishing within the top six for seven consecutive races and securing 9th overall in the championship. Jodoin expressed his anticipation, saying, "I'm very excited to be back with McCumbee McAleer Racing for the 2024 Mazda MX5 Cup season! I had a strong finish last season and am eager to build on that momentum and growth in the upcoming season. I look forward to achieving more with MMR."
Team owner Chad McCumbee expressed his excitement, "Our entire team is thrilled to have both Nate and John back with us in 2024. Their performances in the latter part of the past season turned heads, and I anticipate them fighting towards the front of the field at Daytona. I foresee multiple podium finishes for these two this season."
