January 19, 2021 – Hixon Motor Sports continues to add to their stout lineup of drivers as next on the list to join the team is Hannah Grisham. Set to make her Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires series debut at the Daytona International Speedway, Grisham is anxious and excited to get her race season started. Confirmed for two events in 2021 so far, Grisham will bring Hagerty and Shift Up Now as primary partners with her and will aim to make the best of her debut January 27 – 29th in the Sunshine State.
“I raced at Daytona a few years back at the World Karting Association (WKA) Daytona Kart Week, but this will be my first race on the big track,” expressed Grisham. “I’m really excited as it will also be my first Mazda MX-5 race. There are a lot of really talented drivers who have multiple years in the platform, so I am excited to see how I match up. It is going to be an exciting weekend, and I can’t wait to hit the track with Hixon Motor Sports.”
“Hannah brings a ton of experience to HMS,” added Bryan Hixon. “She has championships and vice-championships dating back to 2018 in cars and extending that to 2011 in karting. Daytona and the MX-5 program will be a new experience for her, but I am confident that she will be up to speed, on pace and challenging for the results in both wheel-to-wheel races later this month.”
Grisham added, “My goals for the race week are to get up to speed as quickly as possible, and to of course have fun. I am also looking forward to getting to know everyone on the team and race alongside many other talented women and men.”
A 20-year-old race car driver from Glendora, California, Hannah began driving at the age of 3, riding motorcycles at the age of 4, racing karts at the age of 6 and racing Spec Miata when she turned 16. Hannah has over 800 competitive starts spread across more than 300 races in cars and karts from the club to the national level. Hannah has recently secured the 2020 Southern California Teen Mazda Challenge championship and earned a spot as a finalist in this year's Mazda MX-5 Cup Shootout, finishing runner-up. Hannah has also recently become Pirelli North America’s newest test driver, making her the first ever female test driver for Pirelli Worldwide.
Hannah holds multiple karting class championships. Her two national championships have earned her the "IKF Expert" designation. Hannah is the second female to win the prestigious IKF Lake Speed Achievement of Excellence in Karting and has earned the So-Cal Sprinters Driver of the Year and High Point Eagle awards.

With on-track action at the Daytona International Speedway beginning Wednesday, January 27th, two wheel-to-wheel races will go green on the 28th and 29th as the 2021 season takes the green flag.
