Supply, NC -- McCumbee McAleer Racing (MMR) is proud to announce its driver line-up for the 2022 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Series, presented by BF Goodrich.  Owners Chad McCumbee and Stevan McAleer say they will field a team-record eight entries in the season-long quest for a second team championship.

MMR won a record number of races during 2017 and its first championship with driver Patrick Gallagher. Robert Stout also captured the Rookie of the Year title while the team collected its third successive Team of the Year accolade.

Returning to competition with MMR is 2021 Rookie of the Year Sam Paley (#28); sophomore Jenson Altzman (#13); Rookie of the Year candidates John Jodoin (#39), and Aidan Fassnacht (#15); veterans Rossi Lee (#48), Moisey Uretsky (#55) and Justin Piscitell (#89). Another newcomer to MMR this year is Matthew Dirks (#76).

"2022 is shaping up to be an impressive one with our driver lineup! I'm ready to get to Daytona and see if MMR can fill up the podium," said McCumbee.

Said Kentucky resident and Indiana University student Paley:  "I'm very excited to be back with MMR for my sophomore season starting in Daytona.  We had a fantastic year last season winning the ROY title and I'm looking forward to building on that success going for the Series Championship this year."

Altzman noted he was happy to be back with MMR for his sophomore season as well.  "My rookie season had its challenges but there is no substitute for a years-worth of car experience.  We showed podium worthiness on multiple occasions and I'm determined to deliver results to the team this season. The team and I are confident we will be rolling into Petit Le Mans fighting for the title this year. I have to thank Vervantis National Energy and Utility Consultants, Aero Marketing Group and Racing Force for their continued support!"

Having run a limited schedule in 2021, Jodoin will chase the Rookie title with teammate Fassnacht and others within the Series.  He acknowledged his happiness with the results of that experience, saying: "With two top ten finishes and two Hard Charger Awards, I exceeded my own expectations.  ...I feel very confident that I have what it takes to contend for the 2022 Rookie title."

Russian born Moisey Uretsky, running mate Justin Piscitell and longtime Series competitor Rossi Lee will be giving the young guns a run for position finishes as well as bragging rights within the team. Joining them will be Dirks.  "After testing with the team last Fall, it is clear my car will be competitive, and the team will provide the necessary support for me to stay focused on obtaining results.  MMR has some serious technical skills.  My teammates are fast. I enjoy hanging out with everyone on the team...so that combined with iconic tracks we will be visiting is going to make for a great season."

In addition to the Rolex 24 at Daytona, MMR will compete in four other IMSA WeatherTech Series weekends, race with IndyCar at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and the NASCAR weekend at Road America. The complete schedule is available on the MMR website (WWW.McCumbeeMcAleerRacing.com); and the websites for IMSA, IndyCar and NASCAR.
