Continuing its tradition of races ending with miniscule margins of victory, the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin provided a photo finish at Sebring International Raceway once again on Friday. Rookie and Mazda Shootout Scholarship Winner Westin Workman (No. 13 BSI Racing) beat Connor Zilisch (No. 72 BSI Racing) to the timing stripe by 0.004-second.

Tyler Gonzalez (No. 57 Saito Motorsports) held off three formidable opponents at Sebring International Raceway to take his first Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin race win of the season. Gonzalez made a last lap pass and kept three charging drivers behind in a mad dash from the final turn to the checkered flag, winning by 0.079-second.

Setting a lap more than two tenths quicker than the existing Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin qualifying record, Connor Zilisch (No. 72 BSI Racing) captured the pole for Thursday’s Round Three race at Sebring International Raceway. He shares the front row with Tyler Gonzalez (No. 57 Saito Motorsports Group).

Returning to a track that has been the site of some amazing finishes, the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin is preparing to put on two more show-stopping races at the legendary Sebring International Raceway this week. Adding to the excitement is the addition of Xfinity Series driver Jesse Love to the grid.

Jesse Love, driver of the No. 2 Whelen Engineering Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series will join the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin grid for Rounds Three and Four at Sebring International Raceway.
