    The Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires took to the track for two practice sessions at Watkins Glen International on Thursday. Gresham Wagner (No. 5 Spark Performance) was the fastest driver of the day, while IndyCar veteran James Hinchcliffe (No. 3 JTR Motorsports Engineering), who is a guest driver for this event, showed excellent pace with the sixth-fastest lap of the day.

The Canadian will drive the No. 3 JTR Motorsports Engineering entry for Rounds Seven and Eight.

  • Hixon Motor Sports Powers Austin Hatcher Foundation’s Industrial Arts Program

    Backed by support from Hixon Motor Sports (HMS), the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer (AHF) is kicking off another STEM-based program called “E-Racing” through its Industrial Arts Education Therapy division. The E-Racing program aims to inspire children who have been affected by childhood cancer to take an interest in engineering in an innovative way. This project not only allows kids to build their own functioning and drivable electric car, but the kids will do it while building self-confidence, problem solving skills and creative thinking. The AHF team will then race the car at the Green Prix, an event hosted by Green Spaces Chattanooga on October 20, 2023, at Volkswagen Chattanooga.
