  • Thomas Wins Incident-Filled Daytona Mazda MX-5 Cup Race

    The non-stop excitement of Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires racing at Daytona International Speedway was slowed by three lengthy full-course yellows on Friday. But it was with Jared Thomas (No. 96 JTR Motorsports Engineering) taking the win in Round Two of the 2022 championship as the race ended under a full-course caution.

  • Gonzalez Wins Rainy MX-5 Cup Season Opener at Daytona

    Teams in the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires had to contend with a wet Daytona International Raceway to kick off the 2022 season. In typical MX-5 Cup fashion, the 45-minute race came down to a four-wide, door-to-door sprint to the finish line. That sprint was won by Tyler Gonzalez (No. 51 Copeland Motorsports).

    The IMSA Rolex 24 at Daytona Speedway was an incredible start to the 2022 season for the Formidable Racing Development team. The team leaves the paddock at Daytona with Chris Nunes in 2nd place in the overall in the championship points, and Joey Atanasio in 2nd place in Rookie of the year. They are all looking forward to rolling into St Petersburg.
