    In a weather filled weekend that featured periodic showers, fog and a late race on Thursday afternoon, Copeland Motorsports was victorious in the opening round of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires schedule. Tyler Gonzalez steered his #51 entry to the win on Thursday afternoon while the Maryland based program earned three top-ten results in the double race event.

  • Gonzalez Wins MX-5 Cup in Daytona

    It was the opening weekend of the 2022 IMSA race season and it was a winning one for Floridian Tyler Gonzalez. Competing in both the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires and the Michelin Pilot Challenge program, Gonzalez added a pair of top-five results including a win with Copeland Motorsports in the first round of the Mazda MX-5 Cup.

  • One Podium and Seven Top-Ten Results for HMS

    It was the opening round of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires at the famed Daytona International Speedway this past week, and it was six top-ten finishes earned by the powerhouse Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) squad. Selin “The Machine” Rollan led the way on the results sheets with a podium result, third place, in race one while Connor “The Prodigy” Zilisch made his series debut with a pair of top-ten results leading a handful of laps and challenging for the win during race one.

  • Aidan Fassnacht and Sword Performance Set For 2022 MX-5 Cup

    Aidan Fassnacht, an 18-year-old second-generation driver from Madison, New Jersey, will make his IMSA debut this week in the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented BFGoodrich® Tires in the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.

  • From The Hospital Bed to the Driver's Seat

    FA month after a climbing trip from El Capitan, in Yosemite National Park, Tony McIntosh became extremely sick. It was not looking good as the team of doctors worked to figure out his mysterious illness. His nervous system was being viciously attacked, which led to weeks of not being able to eat, sleep, and in constant pain from Trigeminal Neuralgia. As weeks turned into months the sickness moved into his frontal lobe portion of his brain and started to attack his hearing and vision. The doctors narrowed in on a bacterial infection and started a treatment with a protocol similar to treating an Anthrax exposure.
