It was another Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires podium-winning weekend for Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (Mid-Ohio). With five top-ten finishes across their five-driver program over two races that weekend, Selin Rollan led the way with a sixth-place finish on Saturday before climbing his way from sixth at the green flag to the second step of the podium on Sunday.

It was a weekend of progression for Max Opalski during rounds five and six of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires at the legendary Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. With the goal to learn and gain experience with each passing event, Opalski completed every race lap over the weekend en route to twelfth and fourteenth place results in the strong twenty-nine driver field.

Jared Thomas (No. 96 JTR Motorsports Engineering) won his third race of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires season in dominant fashion at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Sunday. The performance was convincing, as Thomas crossed the finish line a full 3.449 seconds ahead of second place Selin Rollan (No. 87 Hixon Motor Sports). Justin Piscitell (No. 89 McCumbee McAleer Racing) completed the Round Six podium.

Reigning Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Champion Gresham Wagner (No. 5 Spark Performance) won the race through Mid-Ohio’s Thunder Valley before actual thunder forced IMSA to end the race just shy of the half way point on Saturday.

Matthew Dirks (No. 76 McCumbee McAleer Racing) earned his first Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires pole position at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. He will share the front row with 2021 series champion Gresham Wagner for today’s race at 12:10pm ET.
