McCumbee McAleer Racing (MMR) is proud to announce its driver line-up for the 2022 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Series, presented by BF Goodrich. Owners Chad McCumbee and Stevan McAleer say they will field a team-record eight entries in the season-long quest for a second team championship.

After a tremendous 2021 season that produced incredible racing, photo finishes, and a thrilling fight for the championship, the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires is ready to back it up with another season of amazing racing in 2022. Preparing for a second season under IMSA sanctioning, the quest for the $250,000 championship prize season begins this week at Daytona International Raceway as part of the legendary Rolex 24 At Daytona event.

The holidays are over, the calendar has turned to a new year, drivers have been signed, testing is complete, and it is finally time to start the 2022 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires season. With the opening rounds taking place at the famed Daytona International Speedway during the annual Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona weekend, Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) drivers will be put on the grandest of stages as they begin their quest for race wins, podium results and the overall series crown in 2022.

Formidable Racing is one of these new teams in the paddock but with 100 years of cumulative racing experience, they will be the ones to keep a close eye on as they go for Rookie of the Year and the overall Championship.

With the opening round of the 2022 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires on the horizon, Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) continues to add stars to their driver lineup. With five drivers set to take to the track at the famed Daytona International Speedway in late January, HMS is pleased to confirm Bruno Carneiro as their newest challenger.
