Monday January 16, 2022. Daytona Beach, FL - McCumbee McAleer Racing (MMR) is excited to announce that Sam Paley will be returning to the team for the 2023 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires season opener at Daytona International Speedway. Paley was the polesitter for this event last season and was poised to win multiple events over the past 2 seasons, so MMR is hoping to make a statement at Daytona and get that first win.

"Sam joining us, for the opening event, adds extra strength to our program," said team owner Stevan McAleer. "Sam will 100 percent be a contender to win races and I am very excited to see him back under MMR for the opening event."

Paley, who started working with MMR in 2020, is also excited to be back with the team. "I am beyond excited to be back with MMR for the 2023 Mazda MX-5 Cup season opener at Daytona," said Paley. "We have formed an excellent relationship over the years that I look forward to continuing. We were on the pole here last year and finished 2nd in 2021. The goal is to win, and I have full confidence we will have a very quick and competitive package. This is the best event of the year, and I can not wait to get started.”

Paley will drive the No. 28 Red Team Ventures car. The 2023 Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires season consists of fourteen rounds, in seven double-header events that begin at Daytona International Speedway the last weekend of January, and end at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta the last weekend of September.

All races will be streamed live on IMSA.tv. Radio Le Mans will provide on-air talent for all presentations with John Hindhaugh and Shea Adam sharing the booth for live streams.
