BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (April 6, 2019) – In an early Saturday morning qualifying session, Michael Carter claimed pole position for Round Three of the Battery Tender® Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires®. Fellow rookie Gresham Wagner took his first series pole position for Round Four, which goes green a mere four hours after Round Three concludes.

In the ND1 category for the previous generation Global Mazda MX-5 Cup car, Alabama native Nathanial Sparks swept pole position for both races.

Earlier this weekend, series PA and pit lane reporter Tony Laporta visited with the drivers as they studied the 2.3-mile circuit on Thursday. Video:
