Gresham Wagner earned his second-career pole position in the Battery Tender® Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich® Tires at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Thursday. He will share the front row for Friday’s Round Three race with Michael Carter.

The Battery Tender® Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires® is finally back in action this week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Following a number of COVID-related schedule changes, the series returns to the IMS road course for the first time since 2017.

Following the changes to the 2020 INDYCAR schedule announced on Monday, the Battery Tender® Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires® and Andersen Promotions have released a revised calendar for the 2020 season.

Robert Noaker opened the 2020 Battery Tender® Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires® season with a perfect record. The high school junior won both races of the Alana Long 100 from pole. Rookie runner Jared Thomas finished second, with Selin Rollan coming home in third.

After leading both practice and qualifying, Robert Noaker capped off day two of the Alana Long 100 at Road America with a race win. The youngest driver in the Battery Tender® Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires® paddock (16 years-old) edged out Gresham Wagner and Selin Rollan for the first race win of the season.
