Monticello N.Y. (29 September 2018) –Nikko Reger won the opening Battery Tender Global MX-5 Cup race of the day and then backed that victory up with a run to fourth place at Monticello Motor Club to seal the 2018 championship and the $200,000 in racing support from Mazda that comes with it.

Monticello N.Y. (29 September 2018) – Nikko Reger led 16 laps at Monticello Motor Club to claim his third Battery Tender Global MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires win of the year in the No. 01 Slipstream Performance entry. Reger entered the weekend with a one-point championship advantage over Selin Rollan, and grew that advantage to 15 points with the victory as Rollan came home fifth.

Bryan Ortiz raced from 25th on the grid to finish 3rd at Portland International Raceway to claim the Battery Tender “Hard Charger” Award. While he was pleased to take the $1,000 and the Battery Tender that went with it, he didn’t want to have to do that again.
