There are a few people behind the scenes of every motorsports venture that rarely get the accolades but always put in some of the hardest work. This is true to form with Hixon Motor Sports newest team member Andrew Carbonell. Not a Driver, Engineer or Team Owner, Carbonell is the HMS Driver Coach and will take on the duties throughout the 2021 Global MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires season with the growing Hixon Motor Sports program.

Provision is based out of Bakersfield, CA and owned by ex-series competitor, Brooks Leal, and ran by familiar Mazda MX-5 Cup Crew Chief, Brad Little, will complete their driver lineup with the signing of Jeansonne.

Last competing in the Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires back in 2019, Loni Unser will return in 2021 with Hixon Motor Sports (HMS). Bringing the famous Unser name to both the Mazda and IMSA paddocks, Loni has inked a deal to compete in the opening two events of 2021 as she works towards a full season of competition in MX-5 Cup with the goal of winning the Rookie of the Year honors.

Continuing to add to their already stout Mazda MX-5 Cup driver lineup, Preston Pardus has solidified his position within the Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) program. Set to attack the Daytona International Speedway road course for the opening rounds of the Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires, Pardus will look to fight with two chances for the race win during the IMSA Rolex 24 weekend.

Continuing to add to their arsenal of drivers, Copeland Motorsports is pleased to welcome championship-winning karter Luca Mars to their family. Set to contend in the Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires, Mars will be an instant threat for both Rookie of the Year honors and the series championship as he looks to make a major splash in his move from karts to cars.
