After over a month since the last race, Copeland Motorsports is gearing up for the next two rounds of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires. Heading to the Streets of St. Petersburg, April 23rd-24th, the Maryland based team will be returning with a four-car lineup for rounds five and six of the championship.

A veteran in the motorsports world, multi-time race winner Dan Moen has joined the Hixon Motor Sports Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires series for the upcoming 12 Hours of Sebring event. Taking place at Sebring International Raceway March 17-19th, Moen brings a wealth of experience to the team as he aims for the top step of the podium.

Entering their first event of the 2021 season with the largest presence in the paddock, Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) brought eight drivers to the opening round of the Idemitsu Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires. Taking on the Daytona International Speedway, HMS brought the heat showing race-winning pace only to lose out on the final few hundred feet in an epic last-lap battle in race one.

With the first two green flags of 2021 this past weekend at the Daytona International Speedway, Copeland Motorsports kicked off their Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich® Tires with speed but results that did not match. Earning six top-fifteen results, the Maryland-based program will shift their focus to rounds three and four at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg at the end of April.

As a competitor in multiple different series and driving race cars all around the world, current W Series driver Sabré Cook will join Hixon Motor Sports (HMS) in Daytona. Set for her first Mazda MX-5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich event at the Daytona International Speedway January 27th to the 29th, Cook will pilot a Hixon & Apple Motor Sports Mazda MX-5 and will bring a variety of partners to the table to help her through the race week.
